As I try to conclude these series, I would be exploring some of the scriptural ways in which we could keep our hope alive. Col 1:27, “……Christ in you, the hope of glory”. The verse clearly indicates that Christ is the giver of hope. Hence, if you abide in Christ, that is when you have hope. A life with Christ is a life of an ending hope and a life without hope is a hopeless life. Abiding in Christ keeps your hope glowing. It helps you to believe there is hope for you no matter the situation.
To keep hope alive again, it is important to believe in hope. Believe in Hope. Rom 4:18, “Abraham against hope believed in hope..” Do not settle for less. So, to keep hope alive, there is need to constantly believe in hope even in the face of daunting situation.
In like manner, to keep hope alive entails allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell in you richly. Rom 15:13, “ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.” Holy Spirit causes you abound in hope.
Finally, rejoice in hope. Rom 12:12; Rom 5:1-2, “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Keeping hope alive keeps you away from being depressed or thoughts of doing folly things. Let the fire of hope keep burning your life.
