Help those who hate you

Help those who hate you

if you come upon your enemy’s ox or donkey that has strayed away, take it back to it’s owner. If you see that the donkey of someone who hates you has collapsed under its load, do not walk by. Instead, stop and help

Exodus 23: 4-5. NLT

It is a good thing to be good. God has called us to live peaceably with all men. We are the product of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In as much as He has compassion on others, we should do the same as much and often as we can. In fact, in His writings to the Roman church, he says, “as much as it is possible, live in peace with everyone.” (Romans 12: 18, GWT)

Our opening scriptures states what God expects of us in dealing with those who claim to hate us, or are our enemies. He says, “if you come upon your enemy’s ox or donkey that has strayed away, take it back to it’s owner.” (Exodus 23:4, NLT). What does this mean? Why would He say that? One of the reasons is because they have claimed to be your enemies. You are not an enemy to them. Why? This is because you are not born of God to hate. What is it then? We need to show love “because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5: 5, KJV). Also He said, “if you see the donkey of someone who hates you has collapsed under its load, do not walk by. Instead, stop and help.” (Exodus 23: 5, NLT). He says, the man claims to hate you. You don’t hate because you are born of God. It is belittling for you to hate. No!!! you can’t degrade the life you have so low to be debating on the topic of hating someone or loving another. The reason for this is not far away from you. 1 John 3: 9, AMP says; “no one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.” Halleluiah!!! You shouldn’t look at their things getting destroyed. No, don’t do that. If you see anyone’s things getting hurt, do not rejoice. Try as much as you can to fix it for them. It doesn’t matter if they appreciate it or not. All you have demonstrated is the love of Christ to them. That demonstration of love could save them from eternal destruction.

Jesus, when he was attacked, demonstrated the kind of love God wants us to showcase to the world. When Peter slashed off the ear of Malchus, a slave to one of the priests, who has accompanied them at His arrest, Jesus quickly reached out to the Malchus to heal him. “and one of them struck at the high priest’s slave, slashing off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this.” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.” (Luke 22: 50 – 51, NLT). Why do you think He did this? It is because He doesn’t want the servant to bear in a punishment he knows little or nothing about. Remember Malchus was just a slave who should obey in whatever way he has been instructed. Jesus was showing us how to react to such situation. A lot of people would have been happy at such thing, but not Jesus. He showed to the world, and His disciples that He didn’t come to destroy, but to administer love. Be like Jesus! Show some love to that your colleague who doesn’t like you. When their things fall, rush to pick it up and give it back to them. Remember, you are born of God. Don’t look down on that boss that is so proud or doesn’t want you to have that promotion. Speak kind words to him. Let him know that you a Christian with a difference. You are not ordinary. You are special and the divine sperm of God remains permanently in you. Praise God! Enjoy your life.
