HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS-PART 1

HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS-PART 1

“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that the shoots of it will not cease nor fail, [but there is no such hope for man]. Though its roots grow old in the earth and its stump dies in the dry soil, yet at the scent of water [the stump of the tree] will flourish and bring forth sprigs and shoots like a seedling” (Job 14:7-9 AMP).

Here was Job, a man that experienced both sides of life-prosperity and adversity. In the midst of adversity (the state of hopelessness), he saw hope even when he was advised by his wife to curse God and die (Job 2:9). Job’s three friends: Bildad, Eliphaz and Zophar accused Job that he was probably suffering because of his disconnection from God and that he should return to God. They doubted Job’s integrity, Job4:7-8; Job 8:20 and Job 11:14-15,17. It could be that your close associates and brethren have doubted your integrity just like Job’s friends did, do not lose hope in God. The so-called trusted friends might have even disappointed you, do not allow that to bother you. There is hope for you!

What is hope? It means “a feeling of an expectation and a desire for a particular thing to happen”. Hope is an expectation of a positive outcome. The ground on which manifestations thrive. No hope, no manifestation! Hope is that which gives us strength in the face of an adversity. For example, in the face of severe adversity, Job had strong hope of being triumphant in the end. Job 19:25-26 says, “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God”.

Hope makes us to see joy at the end of our present travail. Psalm 30:5 says, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning”. It may appear as if things are tough for you now, but be rest assured that joy comes in the morning. “Tough time never last, but tough people do.”

Lack of strong hope in the LORD has tendency of leading an individual to the state of despair, doubt, discouragement, fear, insecurity, depression, suicide and ultimately eternal damnation. Therefore, hope in God’s unfailing promises and power to bring about a turning-point for your life. Soon, it will be your turn to testify.

God bless you.
